초록

This paper argues that movements are constrained by interface requirements at PF and LF, but not by syntactic requirements like the Activation Condition. It will be shown that the Activation Condition overlaps with the C-I interface requirement (i.e., the EPP requirement), which leads the former to be eliminated and only Agree to be left as a syntactic operation.

Abstract

This paper argues that movements are constrained by interface requirements at PF and LF, but not by syntactic requirements like the Activation Condition. It will be shown that the Activation Condition overlaps with the C-I interface requirement (i.e., the EPP requirement), which leads the former to be eliminated and only Agree to be left as a syntactic operation.
