초록

Word frequency and word lengthhave been played an important role during lexical access in thevisual word recognition. Although behavioral studies showed theinteraction between two variables, previous results could not explainthe time point that word frequency effect, word length effect andthe interaction started. This study has identified the distinct timepoint of word frequency and word length effect using event-relatedbrain potentials(ERPs). In the present study, the effect of the wordfrequency started about 100ms after the onset and the word lengtheffect emerged about 200ms after the onset. However, there wasno interaction between two variables in all time windows. Theresults of this study suggested that the word frequency and theword length effect affected in different time points during visualword recognition.
