Abstract
The Study on Isomorphism and Managemental Performances of Human Resource Management Practices Jeong, Mu-GoanㆍLim, Hyo-ChangㆍLee, Kyu-Man Today there are increasing interests in Human resource management due to recognition of importance about competent individuals in accordance with persistent restructuring of korean firms. Accordingly, many systems for managing HR have been competitively adopted with standard models from global enterprises' in Korea. However, there are many differences in managerial performance of the firms using similar HR systems. This study figures out that the differences result from dual structure of business management in which inconsistency between the systems and core values exists, and is trying to explain the inconsistency with isomorphism from the institutional theory. To do this, first we classified samples into three types according to adopted HRM systems, and verified effects on them with respect to causes of the isomorphism. As the results of the study, we found out that among the causes of the isomorphism, the education level is most likely to be in the group of the type Ⅱ, the one HRM systems are the most adopted, and the influencing power of labor unions is likely to be in the type Ⅲ, the one HRM systems are adopted in the middle level; in cases of non-manufacturing industries, it is even in the middle or the most adopted level. Moreover, with looking over the isomorphism and managerial performance, the average of net profit of the group related to normative isomorphism turns to be attentively better off. KeyWords:human resource management practices, isomorphism, managemental performance
