This study explores the semantic meanings of the most frequently used degree adverbs in the construction of a Korean dialogue corpus from 2020 and 2021, employing word embedding through Word2Vec. The outcomes reveal valuable insights: Firstly, the vector similarity analysis unveils intimate associations spanning diverse word classes. Secondly, when considering adjectives, a strong correlation emerges between evaluative adjectives and positive semantic prosody, while emotional adjectives display a contrasting negative trend. Thirdly, particularly notable are adverbs, showing almost perfect semantic similarity patterns between the 2020 and 2021 corpora. The pivotal contribution of this study lies in broadening the methodological landscape for the analysis of degree adverbs.
Abstract
