Abstract

What is man's ultimate nature? We keep returning to the subject with a sense of hesitancy and even dread. According to Edward O. Wilson, because the guides of human nature must be examined with a complicated arrangement of mirrors, they are a deceptive subject, always the philosopher's deadfall. The only way forward is to study human nature as part of the natural sciences, in an attempt to integrate the natural science with the social science and humanities. The conjunction of biology and the various social sciences, this is sociobiology. Although human progress can be achieved by intuition and force of will, only hard-won empirical knowledge of our biological nature will allow us to make optimum choices among the competing criteria of progress. The important meaning of human sociality in this paper would be summarized in the following some points : mutual aid(Klopotkin), the cooperative gene(Joachim Bauer), social animals(Edward Wilson), bioholonics(Shimizu Hiroshi). 1) Association and cooperation are the best arms for the struggle for life. Of course these concepts are understood in their wide sense. 2) Mutual aid and cooperations are as much law of nature as mutual struggle. 3) Mutual aid cooperation are law of survival of the fittest and the principle of natural selection. 4) These law and principle could be applied point by point to human being. 5) Human being must be social.
