초록

This study was designed to explore the current state of tourism in response to the fourth industrial revolution and to suggest ways to improve university tourism education in hotel management. To achieve the purpose of this study, the study first reviewed the concepts and trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and, secondly, looked at the effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on hotel management. Finally, based on the theoretical and practical literature reviews, proposals were made for curriculum and hotel management education methods. Previous research has shown that university education to cope with the age of the fourth industrial revolution includes the development of human resources, the development of creative and critical teamwork and the ability to solve problems. In addition, the course of training in hotel management could be classified into three categories : general management training courses, hotel practical training courses (room management, food and beverage management, etc.), and customer relationship management courses (foreign languages and services). The hotel management curriculum presented in this study suggests that training be strengthened during the systematic modularization process and that redundant content should be prevented. Second, actual training, such as hotel room management and food and drink, should be conducted through an on-site, on-site and internship. Third, it was proposed to provide foreign language speaking and service-related courses to mixed learning and project type classes combined online and offline. Finally, a new curriculum was proposed to deal with the fourth industrial revolution, including big data analysis and utilization, hotel entrepreneurship, hotel start-ups and the capstan design, and so on.
