Abstract

The philosophical causes of the corona virus crisis are the ontological view of disease and anthropocentrism. The ontological view of disease focuses only on the physical etiology, even in the disease category consisting of a chain of various symptoms and causes. The four humoral theory, the pre-modern view of disease, is also consistent with the ontological view of disease in that it finds the etiology behind the symptoms. The ontological view of disease can be said to be an organic view of disease that limits the view of disease within the organism. In order to overcome the situation that caused the corona virus crisis, it is necessary to be able to propose an ecological view of disease. However, the ecological view of disease has the problem of dismantling treatment and medicine itself by simply viewing disease as a natural change. Zhuangzi's way of life, which proposes a compromise between the indiscriminate existence as yiqi (一氣) and social reality of the human being, can be the basis for a realistically meaningful ecological view of disease.
