Abstract
In ‘Holzwege’, when Hölderlin says the “unpropitious times”(die dürftiger Zeit) in the poem ‘Brot und Wein’, Heidegger grasps it to “the world's night”(die Weltnacht) that is deprived of the ‘ground of truth.’ And when the poet who talked to himself the question “what are poets for in unpropitious times?” writes his answer assumes the form of the poem, the philosopher reads the poet's answer this. Namely it is a mission of the poet who lives in unpropitious times to attend, singing, to the ontological ‘truth of ground’ that is apprehended as a trace in experience of the “abyss”(der Abgrund). What Heidegger means when he says of the poet's mission is a matter of a renovated subject for philosophy. Having elucidated the place of the poetic subject, the philosopher also deepened his understanding of the place of the philosophical subject. The reason why he did so is that the poet took first the essence of human in which human reaches to the abyss more earlier than the “gods"(die Himmlischen). So to say, Heidegger attempts illustrating a ‘new subject’ of post-modern philosophy which is substituted for the previous subject of modern philosophy that forgot and lost the ground of truth through a poetic subject of the poet's poem. And this attitude of the philosopher became a legacy to another post modern philosophers who seek for a ‘new subject' and a ‘truth of ground’ in theirs own ways. Nowadays the philosophers of post-modern ages enter into still an ontological stage a poet's poetry unfolds, and then grope for dialogue between poet and thinker. This paper hopes to be a link of the dialogue. But it is a critical dialogue, which makes ‘progress of history’ its own clue of argument and is dedicated to the philosophy that insists on a ‘new subject’ experiences the ‘reality of everyday’ as a truth of ground through ontological transcendent.
