『주역참동계』에 나타난 신체관과 양생사상

동한시대 위백양(魏伯陽)의 저술로 알려진 『주역참동계(周易參同契)』는 도교 내단적 주석가들에 의하여 단전수련의 교과서로 추앙되는 저술이다. 이 책에는 주역의 원리와 통치의 근본 및 마음과 육체의 수련을 밝히고 있다. 또한 성명쌍수(性命雙修)의 기본적인 원리를 밝히고 있어서 도교 단학파의 사상을 집대성하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 유․불․선(仙)을 통섭하고 있다. 이러한 『주역참동계』에 대한 주석서들은 중국은 물론 많은 저술이 있으며, 조선시대 서명응의 『참동고(參同攷)』와 권극중의 『주역참동계주해(周易參同契註解)』 등이 있다. 비록 왕필(王弼)의 출현 이후 상수학(象數學)에 대한 비판적 분위기가 고조되기도 하였지만, 중국과 한국에 있어서 『주역참동계』의 영향은 지속되었다. 현재 『주역참동계』에 대한 연구물들은 역학과 도교 및 한의학의 분야에서 이루어지고 있지만, 체육철학의 분야에 있어서는 아직 연구가 미미한 편이다. 체육학의 한 분야인 체육철학은 근래 한국체육학계에 있어서 중요한 학문분야로 정립되어가고 있지만 그 주된 이론체계는 서양철학의 이론에 바탕하고 있다. 따라서 동양의 체육철학의 이론을 정립하기 위해서는 유교 및 불교 및 도교의 인간관과 심신관에 대한 연구가 요청된다. 『주역참동계』는 양생사상의 원류라 할 수 있는 단학의 체계를 밝히고 있다는 점에서 이러한 요청에 잘 부합되는 저술이라 하겠다. 본고는 체육철학의 관점에서 『주역참동계』에 담긴 신체관과 양생사상이 무엇인지를 도출하고자 하였다. 저술을 중심으로 하여 인간의 신체와 마음을 어떻게 바라보고 있으며, 양생의 구체적인 내용은 무엇인지를 규명하였다. 또한 이러한 신체관과 양생사상의 특징은 무엇이며, 그 체육철학적 함의가 무엇인지를 규명하였다.
Abstract
The Zhouyi cantung qi(『周易參同契』), written by Wei Boyang(魏伯陽) in the period of the Eastern Han, is the revered book within the Neidan Taoism(Inner alchemy) trainees as a textbook on danjeon, lower part of the abdomen, training. This book determines the principle of Zhouyi(『周易』), the basis of reign and the training of body and mind. It reveals the basic principle of cultivation of both inner nature(性) and fate(命). So it integrates the Taoistic thoughts of Danhak sect as well as combining the thoughts of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. There are many commentaries on Zhouyi cantung qi(『周易參同契』) in China. In Joseon dynasty, there are Cantung qiao(『參同攷』) by Seo-Myeongeung and Zhouyi cantung qi zhujie(『(周易參同契註解)』) by Gweon-Geukjung and so on. Although the critical mood on Hsiang-shu-hsueh(象數學) had been heightened after the appearance of Wang Bi, the affects of Zhouyi cantung qi(『周易參同契』) on China and Korea had been continued. Nowadays the researches on Zhouyi cantung qi(『周易參同契』) has been achieved in the field of Yi science(易學), Taoism and Korean medicine, but meager in philosophy of physical education. The philosophy of physical education, a field of physical education, has been established as an important study field, but its major theory system is based on the western philosophy. So we need to research the viewpoint of human, body and mind of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism to establish the theory of eastern philosophy of physical education. Zhouyi cantung qi(『周易參同契』), the headstream of the thought of health caring, is accorded with the need, because the book revealed the system of Danhak(丹學). This paper tried to draw the viewpoint of body and thought of health caring on Zhouyi cantung qi(『周易參同契』) in the angle of philosophy of physical education. And I looked at the meaning of body and mind of human and investigated the concrete contents of health caring on the ground of the book. I also inquired the characteristics of the viewpoint of body and thought of health caring and the meaning of philosophy of physical education.
