본고는 일본사회 내에서 이른바 ‘민족교회’로 위치되는 재일대한기독교회를 대상으로 젠더적 관점에서 ‘민족적 아이덴티티’의 내실을 묻는 것을 그 목적으로 한다. 재일대한기독교회가 ‘민족교회’의 근거로 제시하는 것은 재일교포로 구성되는 신도 층과 더불어 식민지 시기부터 ‘민족’을 표방하여 창립/성장해 온 역사구성에 있다. 여기에서 재일대한기독교회의 역사구성을 젠더적 시각에서 문제시하기 위해 주목하는 것은, 1920-30년대의 식민지 공간 안에서 “바이블 우먼”으로 명명된 재일교회의 여성전도사의 존재와 그 위치이다. “바이블 우먼”이라는 명칭에 의해 차단/제한된 여성사의 가능성은 캐나다장로교회의 선교보고서를 중요한 사료로 간주하는 재일대한기독교회의 역사구성과 그 주체의 문제와 관련된다. 이 역사주체에 의해 생산된 역사구성이 이후의 교회에 있어서 ‘성미’라는 신앙표현과 교회 내 젠더노동을 당연시하는 결과로 연계되고, 이러한 젠더적 불균등이 오늘에 이르는 재일대한기독교회의 ‘민족적 아이덴티티’의 내실인 것이다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to find out ethnical identity, in the view of gender, for Korean residents in Japan who are in the Korean Christian Church in Japan(KCCJ). Two things that they presented a base of ethnical church are Korean believers who lived in Japan and history which raised and presented 'ethnicity' in Japan. I notice the existence of missionaries who were in Japan, called Bible women, through the 1920's~30's, and the position of its history in the view of gender. But, the ability of women's history was restricted as the 'Bible women', and also this thing is related to the Report of Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, which they thought important. In this study, their way of thinking is connected to the expression of their belief, as 'holy rice' and women working in the church. This gender inequality is the essential ingredient to them as ethnical identity.
