한국의 일본문학 연구 동향과 과제 : 일본근현대문학 연구(2012-2018년)를 중심으로

Abstract

According to research conducted in Feb. 2019, there are 576 Japanese literature and culture scholars in Korea (including 306 scholars in modern and contemporary literature), who published 1529 essays (including 698 essays in modern and contemporary literature) in six journals. The numbers of scholars and publications in Japanese literature have decreased by 20-30% since 2012. This has been attributed to the merging of the related majors and departments and the shrinking of Japanese courses at universities due to the aggravated ROK and Japan diplomatic relation. Journal publications in modern and contemporary Japanese literature are concerned with 219 Japanese authors, the top 30% of who have studied the works of ten famous authors, including Akutagawa, Soseki, Haruki, and Dazai. The number of essays on the socio-cultural studies of literary works and essays on comparative Japanese and Korean studies has increased. The imminent problem in studies of Japanese literature is to find ways of deepening Japanese studies and solutions for the livelihood of unemployed scholars.
