This study serves to explore a new methodology for dance critique ac cording to Aldrich’s approach by preparing the theoretical ground based on perception, and presenting specific critical cases. First of all, it in troduces Aldrich’s critical theory, and then establishes key concepts for dance critique based on perception through critical reflection. To support its concreteness, this study furthermore reviews Hee-wan Chae’s critical methodology and critique (2014) and suggests it as a case of perceptive dance critique. This study is evaluated significant since it not only highlights tabooed images as the format and content of a dance work, but also proposes a critical methodology that describes, interprets, and evaluates the dance work in a systematic way. Furthermore, it can create a momentum that encourages the self-completeness in the area of dance critique by clarify ing the details of critique for art works.
