본 연구는 락킹댄스에 내재된 문화생성적 가치 요소를 도출하고 그 타당성을 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 문헌 연구, 창시자 인터뷰, 관련 자료 분석을 통해역사적, 사회문화적, 대중적, 기술적, 독창적 측면의 다섯 가지 상위 가치와 세부 요소를 추출하고, 락킹 경력 15년 이상의 전문가 50인을 대상으로 1·2차 타당도 검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 락킹댄스는 스트릿 댄스 장르 중에서도 50년 이상이 된 초창기 장르로서 역사성이 깊고, 펑크 음악과의 상호작용성적 측면에서 사회문화적 가치가 있으며, 미디어와의 친숙성과 스타 발굴을 통한 대중적 가치 요소를 지니고 있음을 알 수 있다. 또한 락킹 고유의 움직임을 통한 기술적 가치와 표현, 연출, 의상적측면에서 독창적 가치가 있음이 확인되었다.
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the culturally generative value elements embedded in locking dance and to verify their validity. To achieve this, five overarching value categories—historical, sociocultural, popular, tech nical, and creative—along with their detailed components were extracted through literature review, interviews with the genre’s founder, and analy sis of related materials. Subsequently, first- and second-round validity tests were conducted with 50 experts who each have over 15 years of ex perience in locking. The results indicate that locking, as one of the ear liest street dance genres with a history of more than 50 years, possesses strong historical value; sociocultural value through its interactive rela tionship with funk music; and popular value reinforced by its media fa miliarity and the emergence of prominent figures. Furthermore, the unique movements of locking demonstrate technical value, while its ex pressive, performative, and costume-related characteristics confirm its creative value.
