Abstract
One of the most challenging problems for subsurface imaging is removing multiples from marine seismic reflection data. In order to establish multiple suppression processing procedure, we applied Surface-Related Multiple Elimination (SRME), Frequency-Wavenumber (FK) filtering, and predictive deconvolution to synthetic data and seismic field data. In this study, it was verified that the method for combination of SRME module and FK filtering is effective for suppressing multiples produced by free surface in numerical test. To suppress surface multiples in field data which had been acquired at continental shelf, we tried to apply processing procedures of SRME module, FK filtering, and predictive deconvolution to shot gathers which have periodic high amplitude. After obtaining stacked images with shot gathers suppressed surface multiples, we conducted comparative analysis of them. The result shows that the processing procedure combining of SRME module and FK filtering is effective to suppress multiples.
