Abstract

Enhanced oil recovery technology using microorganism has been studied with growing issues about the environmental regulation and beginning of the extreme oil development age. Researches on the selection of microorganism, recovery mechanism and monitoring technology are now in progress, also the pilot test is conducted by USA, Russia and China. In our country, as the more and more necessity for development of oil and gas resource in overseas is increasing, we need to develop a microbial enhanced oil recovery technology. This study presents the basic information for MEOR application in the oil industry. Especially, this study reviews about the characteristics and mechanism for MEOR technique, also suggests the possibility of MEOR application on the field.
