초록

Turbulent air flow at a whole limestone mine in Korea is analyzed using ANSYS CFX with the shear stress transport turbulence model. The entire mine’s galleries are constructed with numerical grids to analyze the airflow for the limestone mine’s ventilation. Steady-state results present the velocity distributions, streamlines, total pressures, vorticities, and eddy viscosity. Furthermore, modeling of SF6 diffusion within the tunnels reveals the distinctive traits of turbulent dispersion. In mine ventilation problems, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has proven its applicability not only in a local tunnel but also in the entire network of mining tunnels.
