Abstract
In this study, a simulator capable of simulating a stone production system comprising quarrying, crushing, and shipping processes was developed. We selected a study area in Korea where stone production is planned, and designed a simulation model suitable for the site conditions. The developed simulator connects the entire production process from quarrying to product shipping as a single production system rather than simulating individual processes separately. Using the developed simulator, we derived the optimal equipment/facility combinations and operational strategies for a stone production system in the study area. The simulator successfully simulates the entire production process, making it a valuable design tool for improving the overall productivity, profitability, and efficiency of quarry operations.
