초록

This work is dedicated to the absorbed dose parameters around the INTRABEAM electronic BrachyTherapy (eBT) system in two configurations of bare needle and 40 mm diameter spherical applicator. It is done utilizing a micro- Diamond (mD) waterproof detector based on AAPM Task Group No. 292 suggestion. For this purpose, the eBT device has been simulated leveraging FLUKA Monte Carlo (MC) code for gamma-electron therapy, and the dose parameters have been determined. The produced low-energy bremsstrahlung X-ray spectra in bare needle and spherical applicator scenarios have been obtained. This factor has been compared in air and 15 mm depth water. Furthermore, a comparison study has been demonstrated between 192Ir radionuclide brachytherapy and eBT source, which shows the efficacy of eBT in standard tissue-sparing mechanisms. Moreover, the absorbed dose rate used to calculate the absorbed dose for a specific activity has been documented. This study demonstrates the potential for accurate simulation-based assessment of X-ray dose parameters within this energy range using the FLUKA MC approach. This work bridges the gap between clinical observations and MC simulations while minimizing dose absorption uncertainties. This advancement provides valuable perspectives for prospective research pursuits.
