초록
The possibility of a second cold war in Northeast Asia can be explored by using the Soviet-U.S. experience of the early stages of the Cold War to anticipate the nature of the emerging China-U.S. relationship. While China is in no position to rival the United States like the former Soviet Union, China will hold on to a bipolar international structure and unlike the Soviet Union is more likely to sustain its rivalry with the United States. This paper attempts to shed light on the likelihood of a new regional Cold War between the United States and China.
Abstract
The possibility of a second cold war in Northeast Asia can be explored by using the Soviet-U.S. experience of the early stages of the Cold War to anticipate the nature of the emerging China-U.S. relationship. While China is in no position to rival the United States like the former Soviet Union, China will hold on to a bipolar international structure and unlike the Soviet Union is more likely to sustain its rivalry with the United States. This paper attempts to shed light on the likelihood of a new regional Cold War between the United States and China.
