6·25전쟁에서 극동공군의 공수작전은 매우 높은 비중을 갖고 있음에도 불구하고, 현재 이에 대한 인식과 논의는 활성화되지 못하였다. 기존의 선행연구와 구별되게 전쟁의 목표와 공수작전의 상관관계를 중심으로 분석했다. 결론적으로, 6·25전쟁의 사례분석을 통해 공수작전의 중요성에 대해 인식할 수 있었다. 즉, 공수작전이 지원되지 않으면, 병력과 군수품을 적기에 수송할 수 없으며, 공수전력은 전쟁목표에 직접적으로 기여하는 중요한 수단임을 확인할 수 있었다
Abstract
Despite the high proportion of airlift operations by the Far East Air Force during the Korean War, the awareness and discussion of such operations have not been activated. In this paper, I analyzed the correlation between the goals of war and airlift operations, as distinct from previous research. Based on this analysis, It can be said that airlift, which contributed to the goal of war, is also an important concept in modern warfare. In the case of the Gulf War, which is evaluated as the standard of modern warfare, it was confirmed that a much larger airlift was carried out than the Korean War. In conclusion, the importance of airlift operations was recognized through the case analysis of the Korean War. In other words, if airlift operations were not supported, troops and military supplies could not be transported in a timely manner, and airlift forces were an important means of contributing directly to the goal of war.
