본 연구는 예비교사의 교직 적성 및 인성의 검사를 위하여 교원양성과정 중 실시되는 검사보다 인원 선별의 실효성이 높은 예비교사 선발 면접도구를 개발하고 그 타당성을 점검한 연구이다. 우선 교직 실무 및 역량에 관한 이론적인 논의를 통하여 교직 적·인성의 측정을 위한 면접도구를 개발하였는데, 실제 상황에 기반한 시나리오에 대하여 실시되는 면접으로 구성되었다. 예비교사 피선발자의 연령과 가까운 대학 1학년생을 대상으로 개발된 면접을 실시하였고 이들을 대상으로 경험한 면접도구의 타당성과 한계점에 대한 면담연구를 진행하였다. 전반적으로 본 연구는 이론적 문헌연구, 협의회, 면담조사를 통한 질적 연구방법을 활용하여 진행되었다. 연구 결과 실제 상황을 기반으로 하고 교직의 역량 및 적·인성을 직접적으로 물어보는 방신의 면접 도구가 기존의 지적 능력을 묻는 면접 도구에 비하여 적·인성 검사를 위하여 타당한 것으로 드러났으며, 면접 도구의 내용 타당도를 개선하기 위하여 보완되어야 할 여러 한계점이 지적되어 이와 같은 면접 도구를 개발하는데 고려해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study develops an interview method for measuring pre-service teacher candidates’ (college applicants’) aptitude and character traits suitable for teaching profession and examines the validity of thusly developed method, as the current aptitude and character tests administered in the process of teacher training cannot bear practical effects due to its low-stake implementation. Theoretical examination of pertinent literature provides an applicable list of aptitude and character items that are to be included in the interview. The interview presents interviewees hypothetical practical situations likely to be found in everyday classrooms and invited them to respond as a teacher in the context. The interview method has been pilot-tested to five college freshmen as they are close to the age of college applicants. These interview participants along with the researchers have shared their experiences of this interview method and discussed the validity and limitations that this method may exhibit. The overall results of this study provide practically applicable directions and guidelines for a teacher aptitude and character measuring method in admitting pre-service teachers.
