Abstract
Software Industries take the core part in knowledge-based economy, which is promoted by innovation. For the purpose of innovation, software companies constitute the various networks through partnership and are geographically clustered in a certain area. Therefore, the study on spatial characteristics of partnership network provides the important dimension to understand the software industry. In this study, the partnership network and their spatial pattern were investigated, using the partner relationships among the package software companies. Social network analysis and spatial analysis are applied to the dataset which is collected from various sources and the following facts are founded. Firstly, the global software companies, large IT service companies and telecommunication companies played the central parts in partnership network. Secondly, the Gangnam and Secho area present the high degree of centrality among clustered places. Lastly, the correlation coefficient value between centrality in social network and geographical proximity measure is not shown significantly.
