대학의 컴퓨터 실습수업에서 자기평가 및 동료평가의 활용 가능성 탐색

본 연구에서는 대학의 컴퓨터 실습수업에서 학생평가를 사용할 수 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구의 목적은 학생평가(자기평가와 동료평가)와 교수평가와의 일치도, 자기평가 및 동료평가가 학습성취도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 충북지역 대학의 신입생 51명으로 학생들은 자기평가와 동료평가의 두 그룹으로 나뉘어 4주간의 컴퓨터 ITQ 실습에 관한 평가활동을 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 자기평가와 교사평가, 동료평가와 교사평가 사이의 일치도는 두 평가 그룹 모두 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 자기평가와 동료평가 모두 학업성취도에 긍정적인 효과를 주었지만 동료평가는 통계적으로 유의미한 효과를 보여주지 않았다. 연구의 시사점으로 컴퓨터 실습수업에서 자기평가나 동료평가는 교사평가를 대체할 수 있는 대안적 평가방법으로 사용가능하다는 것을 보여주고 있다. 자기평가가 동료평가에 비해 학업성취도에 미치는 영향이 큰 것으로 나타는데, 이는 자기 성찰의 유무와 관계가 있는 것으로 보인다. 학생평가는 컴퓨터 실습수업에서 교사 평가를 대체할 수 있으며, 형성평가에 사용될 수 있다. 교수․학습 과정에 자기평가 및 동료평가를 적용할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study tried to find out the feasibility of using student evaluation in the computer class with practice at higher education level. The objectives of this study are to measure the agreement level between students evaluation (self-evaluation and peer-evaluation) and teacher-evaluation, and to investigate the effectiveness of students’ participation in evaluation for academic performance. The subjects for this study are 51 university first year students from Chungbuk province in South Korea. They are divided into 2 groups; self-evaluation group and peer-evaluation group and conducted the student evaluation for 4 weeks on ITQ practice. The results are first self-evaluation effected academic achievement positively, however, peer-evaluation did not show statistically meaningful effect. This result is similar to many prior studies but they do not show inconsistant results. Second, both self-evaluation and peer-evaluation showed high synchronization with teacher-evaluation. This results is quite consistant in many studies but it requires orientation prior to the evaluation. The results from this study mean that both self evaluation and peer evaluation can be used as an alternative method to teacher evaluation. Self evaluation method can be used for formal evaluation while peer evaluation can be for formal evaluation as well but also for summative evaluation with teachers’ co-evaluation (collaborative evaluation). The instructional methods to integrate student evaluations into instructional processes for the university IT courses with practice are instruction for rubric use prior evaluation and reflection after both self and peer evaluations can enhance performance.
