Abstract
This study aims to analyze the main effects of the quantity(number of comments, ratings) and quality(readability of comments, related emotions) of comments on the usefulness and trustworthiness of comment recommendations made by users for caf'e products. In addition, this study will attempt to analyze how the amount of comments and overall quality of those comments play a role in affecting user attitudes via psychological variables, such as involvement and attachment. The key results of this study indicate that: (1) the higher the quality of a comment, the more useful and reliable it is, (2) the higher the usefulness of a comment, the more recommended it will be, and (3) the higher the usefulness of the comment, the more users feel confidence as a result. Even if the number or length of comments was long, individual comments were not always deemed useful, valuable, or trustworthy. Furthermore, users with high brand involvement showed higher confidence in comments, as their quality of comments was higher than those with less comments. In addition, users with strong brand attachment demonstrated a higher quality of comments compared to those who did not. They showed higher confidence in said comments.
