대학교육의 질 제고를 위한 블렌디드 이러닝 활성화 방안 : 교수들의 인식 및 요구 조사 분석으로부터

전통적인 오프라인 중심의 대학들에서 이러닝을 도입하는 하나의 방법으로서 블렌디드 이러닝 체제에 대한 기대와 관심이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 블렌디드 이러닝을 대학교육 환경에 안정적으로 정착, 확산시키기 위해서 블렌디드 이러닝의 활용 주체들이 새로운 체제를 어떻게 인식하고 있는지, 이를 활성화 하기 위해 어떠한 지원들이 필요한지에 대한 요구를 분석하는 것은 블렌디드 이러닝의 실제적 활성화 전략을 수립하는데 중요한 근거가 될 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 블렌디드 이러닝을 활성화시키기 위한 구체적인 방안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로, S대학교 교수들을 대상으로 초점집단회의와 설문조사를 실시하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 종합해 보면, 교수들은 대체로 이러닝을 수업에 도입하는 것이 학습에 효과적일 것이라는 긍정적인 인식을 갖고 있으며, 많은 교수들이 이러한 이유로 현재 이러닝을 활용하거나 향후 활용할 계획을 갖고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그러나 교수들이 이러닝 수업 개발 및 운영에 많은 부담을 느끼는 등 블렌디드 이러닝 활성화의 저해요인이 다각도의 차원에서 존재하므로 이를 해결하기 위한 다양한 정책 및 전략이 요구됨을 알 수 있다. 이상의 결과들을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 블렌디드 이러닝 활성화 방안으로 1) 교수들의 시간적 부담을 덜어주는 정책이나 전략 제공, 2) 교육의 질을 높이는 노력을 업적평가에 반영하는 체제 마련, 3) 이러닝에 대한 부정적 인식을 바로잡기 위한 노력, 4) ‘이러닝’보다는 ‘블렌딩’을 강조하는 홍보전략 마련, 5) 블렌디드 이러닝의 적용을 돕기 위한 다양한 강의법이나 교수전략 제공, 6) 교과의 특성과 교수자의 특성을 고려한 실질적인 전략 제공, 7) 교육 및 조교 지원 강화를 제안하였다.
Abstract
Conventional universities try to introduce blended e-learning system with the expectation of deriving maximum educational effectiveness by integrating various technologies and strategies of e-learning into classroom environment. For embedding a blended e-learning system in an off-line based university, the analysis of how professors perceive blended e-learning as a new educational system and what kind of supporting strategies they need can be helpful to establish a practical strategy. In this study, with the aim to suggest a strategy for activating blended e-learning at a university, two focused group meetings and a survey for professors were conducted. In summary, most professors recognize that introducing e-learning in their classroom would be effective to teaching and learning, and with this reason, most professors have used e-learning or have had plan to use. However, there are various obstacles to get over. Based on the above results, six strategies to introduce and diffuse the blended e-learning system were suggested; 1) Developing policies and strategies to lessen professor's load, 2) Need a professor evaluation system which is able to evaluate efforts for teaching, 3) Changing negative perception of e-Learning, 4) Promoting blended e-learning as one of effective teaching methods, 5) Providing instructional methods and strategies to help professor apply blended e-Learning, 6) Providing professors with practical tips to use blended e-learning in their course, 7) Assigning an assistant and reinforcing training for both professors and assistants.
