서울의 공간구조는 1970년대 이후 종로를 중심으로 하는 도심부의 쇠퇴와 함께 한강이남의 여의도 일대 및 강남이 성장함에 따라 단핵구조에서 점차 다핵구조로 변화하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 서울의 도시구조 변화양상을 주거지와 직장사이에 규칙적으로 이루어지는 통근통행의 변화를 통하여 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 공간상호작용에 의해 형성되는 유동패턴의 변화와 함께, 유동패턴에 근거한 기능지역의 변화를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 유동패턴은 한강이남의 성장에 따른 서울시 공간구조의 다핵화 및 분산화로 인해 1996년에는 10개가 추출되었지만 2002년에는 12개가 추출되었다. 유동패턴을 토대로 기능지역을 추출한 결과, 서울을 구성하는 각 하위기능지역의 범위가 협소해졌음을 확인하였으며 서울을 남북으로 가로지르는 한강이 기능지역 형성의 주요한 경계로 작용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 두 시기에 걸쳐 기능지역은 권역적 중복에 의한 중층적 구조를 나타내었으며, 2002년 들어 기능지역이 훨씬 더 복잡한 양상으로 구조화 되었다.
Abstract
The regional structure of Seoul has been steadily changed from single-nuclear pattern to multi-nuclear pattern in tandem with the decline of traditional downtown, Jongro, and the growth of Yido and Kangnam, since 1970’s. This paper tried to find the change of Seoul’s urban structure by investigating the change of commuting trips. For this examination, I analysed the change of functional region based on the movement pattern as well as the change of movement pattern formed by the spatial interaction. As a result, due to the multi-nucleation and dispersion of Seoul’s regional structure followed by the growth of southern Seoul, 10 movement patterns were extracted in 1996, and the 12 patterns in 2002. After extracting the functional region based on the movement pattern, I could find the narrowness of sub-functional region. Also it was disclosed that the Han river dividing Seoul into the north and the south is functioning as a principal boundary in the forming of functional region. Both in 1996, and 2002, the functional region was shaped as duplicated structure which overlapped their boundaries, and it was more complicated in 2002.
