초록

Luisa Valenzuela has been estimated as a writer who criticizes Argentine dictatorship so-called ‘Dirty War(1976-1983)’ from a feminism perspective. However, her criticism is not limited to this period. She reveals widespread violence, especially violence that was organized systematically by Argentine government since the early 70s. This present paper deals with fear and trauma that suffer Valenzuela’s characters in some stories of Strange Things Happen Here(1975). In these stories, the author exposes various facets of Argentine people in trauma, not only victim’s situation but also attacker, observer and bystander’s ones. Thereby she struggles to remember various facets of Argentine people suffering from trauma so that dictatorial government cannot come back to power.
