초록
The sacramental act draws its material from a variety of sources. They may be drawn from the Bible, Greco-Roman mythology, Spanish history and legend, or biographies of Catholic saints. Tirso de Molina chooses the Bible as the source work for his sacramental act "Lookalike Brothers" and attempts to adapt the text by remediating it in the genre of drama. By creatively reworking the biblical text through adaptations such as narrative variations, deletions, omissions, and expansions, the dramatist hoped to arouse the interest and response of Spanish audiences of the time. To this end, the time and space of the creation of the world and the Passion of Christ in the first century AD are localized in the specific time and space of 17th century Spain. Even those familiar with the biblical story were able to immerse themselves in the performance through the playwright's novel adaptation, and the translation of the biblical time and space into a contemporary setting gave the audience a sense of reality.
