본 연구는 다문화 교사 정체성 발달과정에 대해 심층적으로 이해하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 통해 교원양성과정 및 교사교육과정에 주는 시사점을 찾고자 한다. 본 연구는 특히 개인과 환경 간 상호작용에 대해 복합적 조망을가능케 하고, 그 심리사회적 관계의 역동성을 이해하는 데 도움을 주는 접근으로서 정신분석학적 관점을 주요 연구방법으로 채택하여, 다문화 교사 정체성 발달의 문제를 주체성과 타자성 간의 불가분의 관계를 중심으로 탐구하였다. 특히라캉 정신분석학적 이론은 주체의 욕망을 깊이 있게 탐구하고 분석하는데 유용한 개념적 도구를 제공해줌으로써우리가 자신과 비슷한 것뿐만 아니라 상당히 다른 것, 낯선 것으로부터도 배울 수 있게 도와주고, 교수자가 가져야할 ‘가르치는 열정’의 본 모습을 구별할 수 있게 해준다. 이는 소수의 다문화 학생들을 더 잘 이해하는 것을 넘어각각의 학생들이 교실에 가져오는 다양성을 더 잘 이해하고 존중할 수 있게 해 주는 것이기도 하다. 본 연구에서는구체적으로 한 예비교사의 교생실습 경험을 중심으로 다문화정체성 발달과정에 대한 사례를 정신분석학적 관점에서고찰하고 이것이 비판적, 변혁적 교사교육에 주는 시사점을 찾는다. 정신분석적 사례연구를 위해서는 자화상적 글쓰기, 교육실습 전후 심층 면담, 반성적 저널 등을 통해 질적 연구자료를 수집, 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통해 다문화 시대에부응하는 변혁적 교사교육을 위해 자기 정체성과 맞닿아 있는 교사정체성의 발달과 실재의 윤리가 갖는 중요성을확인할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to get a deep understanding of the multicultural teacher identity development. Especially it attempted to find some implications for teacher education program and curriculum with the preservice teacher’s multi-cultural identity development. To implement this aim, the research chose a psychoanalytic approach as the main research method, which enables us to get a complex understanding of the interplay between individual and environment, and helps to better understand the dynamics of the psycho-social relationship. Focusing on the relation between subjectivity and otherness, this research has examined the issue of multicultural teacher identity development. Particularly, it drew on some significant implications by reconsidering a case of pre-service teacher from a psychoanalytic perspective
