초록
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of type of recovery treatment (massage, cryotherapy or no treatment) and glucose intake performed between Taekwondo games on heart rate and energy metabolism-related blood variables (glucose, FFA, insulin, epinepherin, norephineprin, and cortisol). METHODS: Twelve male collegiate Taekwondo players participated in control trial, massage trial, cryotherapy trial, glucose trial, glucose+ massage trial, and glucose+cryotherapy trial repeatedly. Six games of three 2-minute round were performed in a trial, and an assigned treatment was applied for 20 minutes between games in each trial. RESULTS: Heart rate before each game remained significantly lower in glucose+cryotherapy trial than other trials. Glucose and insulin remained significantly higher and FFA remained significantly lower in three trials with glucose intake than other trials without glucose intake. No significant trial effect was found in epinephrine, norepinephrine, and cortisol. CONCLUSIONS: It was concluded that massage, cryotherapy, and glucose intake would be beneficial for energy metabolism-related blood variable and for reducing heart rate throughout the games.
