청소년의 자살시도 경험에 관한 연구

초록

본 연구는 청소년의 자살시도 경험에 작용하는 요인들을 탐색하여 자살을 시도한 청소년이 추후에 또 다시 자살을시도하지 않도록 예방하기 위한 개입전략을 제공하는 데 있다. 연구방법은 Strauss와 Corbin(1990)의 근거이론을 활용하여자살시도에 관련된 심리사회적 과정을 분석하고 자살시도한 청소년의 경험을 집중적으로 탐구하였다. 연구결과는70개의 개념과 22개의 하위범주, 그리고 8개의 상위 범주가 도출되었다. 중심현상은 ‘탈출구’로 내 인생의 로그아웃, 극단적 이기심, 해방, 역설적 세계관으로 나타났으며, 이런 중심현상을 생성시키는 인과적 조건은 ‘부서진 나침판’. ‘부정적 감정의 소용돌이’, ‘관계의 접촉 불량’, ‘일상적인 트리거’의 네 가지로 나타났다. 중심현상에 영향을 주는맥락적 조건은 ‘문제 상황 내 자아 인식과 행동’으로 나타났으며, 이러한 중심현상 속에서 작용하는 중재 조건은상담과 교육, 인정과 관심, 자발적 수용 등 ‘자살시도 후 긍정적 자극’과 변하지 않는 상황, 고립, 이상적인 목표등 ‘자살시도 후 부정적 자극’으로 나타났다. 작용/상호작용 전략은 자살 시도 후 개입을 위한 전략으로서 ‘대인적방법 모색’, ‘역량 강화’가 있었다. 그에 따른 결과는 ‘안전한 성장’이라는 긍정적 변화 또는 ‘여전히 벼랑 끝’이라는부정적 결과가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 자살행동에 대한 초기개입, 청소년에 대한 상담적 접근, 교육현장에서의 적극적인 개입, 가족의 역할 강화 등 청소년의 자살 예방 뿐 아니라 자살시도 후 건강하게 성장할수 있는 안전한 보호 체계 구축과 제도적 변화가 필요함을 제안하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide intervention strategies for suicide prevention after suicide attempts, by exploring the factors that affect such attempt experiences in adolescents. The research analyzed the psychosocial process of individuals who have attempted suicide by applying Strauss and Corbin’s (1990) grounded theory approach, and approached the experiences of adolescents who attempted suicide. The results of the study included 70 concepts, 24 subcategories, and 8 upper categories. The central phenomenon is “escape,” which involves logging out of life, extreme selfishness, liberation, and a paradoxical worldview. The causal conditions that create this central phenomenon were found to be “broken compass,” “negative emotions,” “poor relationship,” and “usual triggers.” The contextual condition that affects the central phenomenon was found to be “self-awareness and behavior in the problem situation.” Intervention conditions that work in the central phenomenon are “positive prompts after the suicide attempt,” such as counseling, education, recognition and interest, and voluntary acceptance. “Negative prompts after suicide attempt” are unchanged, isolated, and ideal goals. Action/interaction strategies were strategies for intervention after suicide attempts, and included “seeking interpersonal methods” and “strengthening competence.” The results showed either a positive change: “safe growth;” or negative result of “still on the edge of the cliff.” Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to prevent suicide among adolescents through early intervention in adolescent suicidal behavior, counseling approach to adolescents, active intervention in the educational field, and strengthening the role of the family. It was also suggested that the establishment of a safe protection system for healthy growth after a suicide attempt and institutional change are necessary
