Jun, T.W., Park, G.S, Seo, D.I. Effects of combined exercise training on endocrine system and immunoglobulin in middle aged women. Exercise Science. 17(2): 157-162, 2008. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of combined exercise training on endocrine system and immunoglobulin in middle aged women. The subjects were randomly assigned into the combined exercise training group(n=9) and controled group(n=7). Exercise session was performed 3 timess per week for 12 weeks. The combined exercise training was composed of resistance exercise(15 Repetition Maximum) and walking exercise (60~70% Heart Rate Reserve). In result, physical fitness were significantly improved with growth hormone(GH) (p<.01) in combined exercise training group. However, insulin-like growth factor I(IGF-I) was not significantly changed. Immunoglobulin was significantly decreased in IgM (p<.01). IgG and IgA were not significantly changed. These results indicate that the 12 weeks exercise training was able to produce enhancement of endocrine system and physical fitness. Moreover, especially combined exercise training may inhibit a decrease in GH, which is regarded as a symptom of the aging process. However, it is not enough to examine immune system with aging induced by combined exercise training in middle age women(50~64).
