Abstract
This study aimed to investigate elementary school teachers’ experiences and perceptions of teacher rights protection and develop a theoretical model using the grounded theory method. Interviews were conducted with six elementary school teachers from January to February 2025. The interview content was organized into transcripts and structured by identifying interrelationships between categories through open coding and axial coding stages, forming a paradigm model. In the selective coding stage, a systematic integration between the core category and other categories led to the identification of 47 concepts, 33 subcategories, and 19 categories, which were presented as a paradigm model, process analysis model, and situational model. The research findings revealed that elementary school teachers exhibited caution towards each other, hesitancy and discouragement regarding active educational activities, and a sense of responsibility for complaints about educational activities. The primary causal factors influencing these central phenomena were identified as a lack of respect for teachers, an increase in students facing educational challenges, and parents who lodged complaints. Behind these issues were contextual factors, including limitations in the social atmosphere, elementary education, teacher awareness, and broader educational paradigm. These limitations were found to influence various stakeholders differently, depending on the growth and changes of students, parents and fellow teachers, available social support, and the interests of administrators. The researchers experienced the limitations of the role of teachers and felt the distance between educational communities, but they were trying to create opportunities for growth as teachers, showing positive, reserved, and negative results.
