유아의 창의적 활동 증진을 위한 유치원 공간계획

최근 국내의 어린이집과 유치원 설계 시 충족되어야할 설계기준에 대한 준수는 크게 향상되어 지역별 차이없이 일반적인 성능수준에 도달하고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 독일, 이탈리아, 덴마크 등의 유럽국가와 일본과 같이 유아의 창의성 교육에 국가적 관심을 두는 국가들에선 이미 오래전부터 안전하고 건강한 보육과 교육을 넘어 유아의 창의적 발달을 위한 연구와 사례적용이 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 그러나 국내 건축 및 공간계획적 측면에서 보면, 기본적 조건충족과 더불어 세심한 유아들의 신체적, 정서적 특징을 반영하고 유아교육전문가들과 협업하며 유아의 창의적 보육교육환경을 구현하려는 노력은 비교적 최근의 일이다. 본 연구의 결과로서 제시하는 유아의 창의적 활동증진을 위한 디자인 요소를 요약 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자연에서의 다양한 활동과 놀이를 구성하는 충분한 외부공간을 마련하고 영역별로 구성하여 유기적으로 연계할 것, 둘째, 실내공간의 안정되고 편안한 분위기 조성을 위해 에밀리에 접근법과 같은 자연모티브를 도입하고 명확한 동선체계를 구성할 것, 셋째, 실내 영역별 공간을 자유롭게 점유하고 활발히 사회적 상호작용을 할 수 있는 넓은 개방형 공간을 마련할 것 동시에 유아의 작은 공간 선호를 고려하여 곳곳에 유아들의 개인적 집중 코너공간을 고려할 것, 마지막으로 실내외 공간과 프로그램의 자연스런 연계를 통해 자연의 실내로의 도입과 확장을 시도할 것 이다. 이와 같은 연구내용을 토대로 본 연구가 제시한 경기도 소재 신축 유치원의 공간 계획은 자연 속에서의 놀이와 유아의 자율적 활동을 지원하는 개방형 디자인을 가장 중점적으로 고려하였다. 실무설계의 한계가 드러나고 있지만 창의적 활동증진을 위한 공간적 고려요소를 현실적 계획안에 시도하였다는 측면에서 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
Abstract
In recent years, the compliance with the design standards to be met in the design of kindergartens in Korea has been greatly improved, and it is believed that the general performance level is reached without regional differences. However, in terms of domestic architecture and spatial planning, it is relatively recent that efforts to reflect the physical and emotional characteristics of attentive children, to collaborate with early childhood education experts, and to implement creative child educational environment. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, to prepare sufficient external spaces to organize various activities and play in nature and organize them by area, and organically connect them. Second, to create a stable and comfortable atmosphere of the indoor space, introduce natural motives such as the Emile Approach and construct a clear circulation. Third, to consider open spaces that can be freely occupied at each indoor area allowing active social interaction. At the same time, to arrange children's private corner spaces considering the children's preference for small space. Finally, to introduce and expand the nature into the interior through the natural connection between indoor and outdoor spaces and programs.
