석유제품가격 변동의 국가간 상호 동조성에 관한 실증 연구

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라를 포한한 주요 9개 국가의 휘발유 및 경유의 세전 최종소비자 가격이 상호 얼마나 연동되어 있는가를 요한슨 공적분 검정(Johansen's cointegration test)을 통하여 실증하고 시사점을 얻는 것이다. 요한슨 공적분 검정 결과 가격 변동의 동조성 관계를 갖는 국가가 많지 않음을 보여주었다. 분석 결과를 통하여 석유제품의 원료인 원유에는 국제적 기준 가격이 존재함에도 불구하고 세전 최종 소비자 가격은 일부 국가 관계를 제외하고는 독립적으로 이루어지고 있음을 보여준다. 국제석유가격 비교를 통한 석유제품가격의 정상성을 검토하기 보다는 도입비용, 환율, 정제 마진, 유통 마진 등의 다양한 요인을 함께 분석하여 석유제품시장의 건전성을 판단해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to verify the international relationship of price fluctuations in petroleum products by Johansen's cointegration test and to find the policy implications. The result of cointegration test shows that there are little statistically significant relationships that price of petroleum products simultaneously changes. This means that end-user price before tax of petroleum products is independently determined, and that it is necessary not only to compare with international prices but also to analyze import costs, exchange rate, refinery margin and distribution margin etc. in assessment of the soundness of petroleum product market.
