‘담론하다’의 고대 그리스적 의미 - 하이데거의 로고스 해석에 나타난 ‘타자와 말을 주고받는다는 것’의 윤리적 함의 -

이 글은 고대 그리스 사유에 대한 하이데거의 연구 주제 중에서 존재, 진리, 말의 재고찰에 관한 것이다. 이 글은 존재, 진리, 말에 대한 하이데거의 사유에 연관 관계를 부여해보며 동시에 이에 대해 확장적 이해를 타진해보는 시도이다. 지난날 하이데거의 존재론은 그의 순수 존재 물음의 대주제 속에서 타자의 문제를 부차적인 것으로 치부해버린다고 비판받아왔다. 한편 본고는 ‘말(Speech)’과 ‘진리(Truth)’에 대응되는 고대 그리스어 ‘로고스(Logos)’와 ‘알레테이아(alētheia)’에 대한 하이데거의 해석 시도가 타자와의 공존 속에서 나타나는 충돌, 투쟁, 그리고 통합의 철학적 문제를 정면하고 있음을 주장한다. 하이데거의 ‘로고스(logos)’ 해석에는 ‘투쟁성’, ‘집약성’, ‘개방성’이라는 말의 독특한 특징이 숨겨져 있다. 본고는 이러한 특징을 토대로 ‘진리’, ‘말’, ‘투쟁’, ‘모음’, ‘개방’이라는 철학적 단어들 사이에는 모종의 불가분적 연관 관계가 존재하고 있으며 이는 필연적으로 하이데거의 철학에 나타난 “공존재(共存在: 타자와-함께-존재: Being-With-Others)”의 문제와 맞닿아 있다고 주장한다. 본고는 이러한 주장을 통해 고대 그리스인들이 사용한 로고스(말, 담론, 대화, 담화 등)의 근원적 의미를 추적하며 그들의 사유 속에 간직된 담론(discourse)의 철학적 본질 의미와 더불어 담론 공간에서 진리의 추구를 위해 타자와 함께한다는 것의 의미와 타자와 말을 주고받는다는 것의 윤리적 함의를 모색하고자 한다.
Abstract
This article rethinks about Heidegger's approach on the topics of Being, Truth, and Logos which is involved in ancient Greek thought. This article attempts an expansive understanding of Heidegger’s thought on ancient Greek concepts -Being, Truth, Logos- by giving related links between these words. In Previous studies, Heidegger’s ontology has been criticized for dismissing the problem of ‘Others’ as secondary to his questions of ‘Being’. However, I argue that Heidegger’s attempts to interpret the ancient Greek words Logos and Alētheia, which correspond to “Speech” and “Truth”, face the philosophical problems of conflict, struggle, and unity in coexistence with others. If you follow his argument, you can notice that there are some important characteristics such as ‘conflict’, ‘gatheredness’, and ‘openness’ hidden in the ancient Greek word Logos which the essental meaning corresponds to ‘Speech(Language)’. Based on these characteristics, I argue that there is some kind of inseparable relationship between the philosophical concept between ‘Alētheia’, ‘Logos’, ‘Conflict’, ‘Gatheredness’, and ‘Openness’, which inevitably is involved with the problem of “Being-With-Others” in Heidegger's philosophy. Through these arguments, I’ll trace the fundamental meaning of logos(words, speech, discourse, dialogue, etc.) used by ancient Greeks, and seek the essential meaning of ‘Discourse’ in their thoughts, as well as the ethical implications of being with others for the pursuit of truth by exchanging speeches with others.
