본 논문은 하이데거에 대한 하버마스의 비판을 통해 하이데거 존재론의 실천적 의의를 드러내는 데 목적이 있다. 하버마스는 『현대성의 철학적 담론』에서 하이데거의 존재론을 두 가지 이유로 비판한다. 첫째로 공허하다는 것이고 둘째로 존재에 대한 복종을 요청한다는 것이다. 그러나 이러한 비판은 이성적 합의가 이미 존재론적 근거로서 본래적 실존함에 토대를 두고 있다할 수 있기 때문에 적절치 않다. 이성적 판단은 자기 자신의 존재에 대한 염려로부터 그것이 합리적인지 아닌지 드러날 수 있다. 그것은 존재에 대한 복종이 아니라 일상성을 비판적으로 바라보는 결단함이다. 또한 합리적 의사소통 이론이 존재론적 근거로서 본래적 실존함에 근거할 때 합리적 의사소통에서 드러나는 문제점 또한 해소될 수 있다. 특히 이상적 담화 상황을 추상적으로 구상하지 않는다는 점에서 하이데거의 존재론은 오히려 보다 구체적이라 할 수 있다. 이를 통해 왜곡되지 않은 의사소통은 본래적 실존함에 근거하고 있다고 말할 수 있으며 이는 곧 존재론의 실천적 의의를 보여준다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to suggest the practical significance of Heidegger’s ontology by considering Habermas’s criticism. In his work, Habermas criticizes Heidegger’s ontology in two aspects: first, the philosophy of Heidegger is empty, and second, it requires obeying to being. However, these criticisms are inappropriate because rational consensus, which Habermas considers ideal, is already based on authentic existence. Rational judgment can be revealed as rational only by caring for their own being. It is not obedience to being but resoluteness to look critically every day. Furthermore, the problem of the ideal discourse proposed by Habermas could be solved if it is based on ontological and existential grounds. It could also be revealed that the ontology of Heidegger is more concrete because it is not premised on abstract conditions. Thus, undistorted communication is based on authentic existence and reveals the practical meaning of ontology simultaneously.
