본 논문은 포스트소비에트 러시아의 공간에서 벌어지고 있는 세계화와 국가정체성의 문제가 어떠한 양상으로 전개되고 있는 지를 소개하면서, 러시아 연방이 직면하고 있고 또 앞으로도 대응해 가야 할 과제가 무엇인지를 국가정체성이라고 하는 위로부터의 행정적 접근방법과 민속문화 및 민속주권의 입장에서 기술하고 있는 실험적 연구이다. 특히 본 연구를 위해 민족주의 및 여러 정치학 이론과 모델들이 선별적으로 수용되었다. 그 이유는 현대 러시아의 정체성 문제 자체가 어떤 한 가지 분석틀로만 쉽게 독해될 수 없는 영역인 점이 첫째이고, 둘째 이유는 이 현안은 그 근본 바탕에 문화의 배경 위에 상당부분 기초해 있기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구의 주요 논거와 증명 사례는 러시아 연방이 세계화의 문제를 어떻게 받아들이고 있으며, 스스로의 정체성과 이미지에 대하여 어떠한 인식을 하고 있고, 이에 따라 부수적 현상으로 어떠한 민속문화 현상들이 새롭게 나타나고 있는지를 살펴보고 있다.
Abstract
This article explores the current globalization and its ongoing aftermaths which have taken place in Russian Federation from the perspectives of two points: nation-state building and folklore identity. Numerous researches have already been made to examine the first problem under review, but most of those attempts are devoted to economic and socio-political dimension, paying little attention to our interests in why certain mythological and folkloric symbols and motifs have often reappeared and the remaining dying away though. A careful look at this phenomenon invites diverse, provoking and interdisciplinary approaches; for instance, our examination appropriately deals with the two symbolic constructs such as the image and mythological function of St. George and the construction of the Victory Park ('Park pobedy' in Russian). Along with this, this study demonstrates some of major issues pertaining to current folklore and folklorism in particular, drawing upon theory-based close understandings of those social and cultural problems.
