소통의 디지털화가 지배하는 오늘날 네트워크상에서 어떤 것이 에티켓에 부합하는 행동이고, 반대로어떤 것이 에티켓에 어긋난 행동인지 명확히 구분 가능한 명문화된 규정은 존재하지 않는다. 따라서 사회구성원들은 관습적이고 묵시적으로 통용되는 규칙에 따라 행동할 수밖에 없는데, 이들 규칙에 대한 주관적또는 자의적 해석으로 인해 의사소통 시 종종 오해와 갈등이 발생하기도 한다. 오늘날 디지털 환경은 시시각각 변화하고 있으며, 이에 따라 디지털 에티켓도 바뀌고 있다. 디지털 에티켓은 원만한 커뮤니케이션을가능케 하고, 네트워크상의 다양한 상황에서 어떻게 행동해야 하는지 지침을 제공해준다. 모든 언어, 문화 공동체의 에티켓은 범언어적이고, 범문화적인 보편적인 양상을 나타내기도 하지만, 해당 공동체의 고유한 문화적 특성을 나타내기도 한다. 디지털 에티켓 역시 마찬가지로 세계적으로 통용되는 보편적인 특성과 러시아의 고유한 특성이 병립되어 나타난다. 본 연구에서는 루키노바(Лукинова О. В., 2020)의 연구를 모티브로 하여 러시아인의 SNS 사용 양상을 관찰하여 디지털 에티켓 규칙들을 살펴보고, 러시아 고유의 특성이 디지털 에티켓에 어떻게 투영되어나타나는지 언어 및 문화적 측면에서 고찰하고자 한다. 이를 통해 궁극적으로 현대 러시아인들이 영위하는디지털 라이프의 문화적 특이성(cultural value)을 규명하고자 한다.
Abstract
In today’s networked world, dominated by the digitization of communication, there are no written rules that clearly define what is etiquette and what is not. Therefore, members of society are forced to act according to customary and implicitly accepted rules, and subjective or arbitrary interpretations of these rules often lead to misunderstandings and conflicts in communication. Today’s digital environment is constantly changing, and so is digital etiquette. Digital etiquette enables smooth communication and provides guidance on how to behave in different situations on the network. The etiquette of any linguistic and cultural community can be universal, cross-linguistic, and cross-cultural, but it can also be unique to that community. Digital etiquette is similarly a juxtaposition of universal, globally accepted characteristics and Russian-specific ones. Drawing on the work of Lukinova (2020), this study aims to examine the rules of etiquette by observing Russian SNS usage through episodes, aiming to explore the linguistic and cultural aspects of how Russian-specific characteristics are reflected in digital etiquette. The ultimate goal is to identify and understand the cultural aspects that are specific to the digital lives of contemporary Russians.
