Abstract

This study examines the determinants influencing fishers’ behavioral intention to use digital transformation using the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2). Key variables, including performance expectancy, effort expectancy, price value, facilitating conditions, social influence, trust, security, and behavioral intention were first analyzed using descriptive statistics. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was then used to analyze the impact of these variables within the UTAUT2 framework. The results show that only effort expectancy, social influence, and trust had a statistically significant and positive effect on fishers’ intention to use digital technologies. Social influence had the strongest effect, accounting for approximately 57.2% of the variance in behavioral intention to use, followed by effort expectancy (34.0%) and trust (24.3%). Notably, social influence was particularly pronounced among fishers with a high school education or less. These findings offer valuable insights into strategies for enhancing the fisher's behavioral intention to use of digital transformation in the fisheries sector.
