초록

Background: This study aimed to analyze the enamel surface and shear bond strength (SBS) with orthodontic brackets at different time intervals after bleaching treatment with 35% hydrogen peroxide (HP). Methods: A 35% HP was applied to enamel surfaces, which were assigned to group 0. The tooth specimens were then immersed in artificial saliva for 24 hours (group 24h), one week (group 1w), and one month (group 1m). The control group did not undergo any bleaching. The enamel surface was evaluated using a gloss meter, quantitative light-induced fluorescence-digital, a three-dimensional optical surface profilometer, a surface microhardness tester, and a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The SBS test was conducted using a universal testing machine and the bond failure modes were observed. Results: The gloss and microhardness of the enamel surface increased with immersion time (p<0.05). Fluorescence loss and surface roughness decreased with increasing immersion time (p<0.05). The SEM images of the test groups showed a rough pattern, similar to that of group 0, which became more apparent as the immersion time decreased. SBS increased with increasing immersion time (p<0.05). Group 1m did not show a significant difference compared with the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: The time interval after tooth bleaching significantly affects the enamel surface and SBS of teeth with orthodontic brackets. This study highlights the optimal waiting time before applying orthodontic brackets after 35% HP bleaching to improve bond strength and treatment outcomes.
