초록

The purpose of this study was to select the bridge and hip thrust using Swiss balls among the representative methods for increasing the stability of the hip pelvis and effective gluteus maximus muscle activation, to find out the difference between the two movements and the muscle activity of the muscles according to each exercise, and to analyze if there is a difference, whether it is statistically significant. Twenty healthy adult males and females participated in the experiment as subjects. The surface electromyogram was attached to four muscles: External oblique, Gluteus Maximus, Hamstrings, and Erector spine, to compare the muscle activity of each of the two movements and to collect the data. The Swiss-ball hip thrust exercise had a higher average of Gluteus maximus muscle activity than the Swiss-ball bridge exercise. The Swiss-ball bridge exercise showed the greatest muscle activity in External oblique and Hamstrings than the Swiss-ball hip thrust exercise, followed by the Erector spine. The muscle activity of each muscle according to the two exercise was found to have a statistical significance of the muscle activity of each muscle in the Swiss-ball bridge exercise(P<0.05). As a result of the post-hoc test, Hamstrings and Erector spines showed the greatest muscle activity, followed by Gluteus maximus. External oblique was the least muscle active. The statistical significance of the muscle activity of each muscle was found in the Swiss-ball hip thrust exercise(P<0.05). As a result of the post-hoc test, Gluteus maximus and Erector spines showed the greatest muscle activity, followed by Hamstrings. External oblique was the least muscle active. These results indicate that the two exercises activate the trunk and lower extremity muscles differently. In conclusion, this study is meaningful in that it provided a method to appropriately and selectively activate the muscles needed during the rehabilitation process around the pelvis based on the differences in activity of the trunk and lower extremity muscles involved when performing the two exercises.

Abstract
