초록
With the expansion of digital media platforms, understanding how online media experiences influence participation in physical activities has become increasingly important. This comparative study explores the effects of media experience—specifically the sub-factors of challenge and interest—on participation behavior across two contexts: water leisure sports and Taekwondo. In the water leisure domain, multiple regression analysis revealed that the challenge factor significantly influenced all three participation dimensions: tendency, possibility, and reinforcement. In contrast, interest only had a significant effect on tendency. Meanwhile, in the Taekwondo context, both challenge and interest significantly affected tendency, while interest alone also showed significant effects on possibility and reinforcement. These results highlight that while challenge-driven content is essential for promoting sustained participation in physically demanding sports like water leisure, interest-based content can be more broadly effective in culturally familiar or less physically intensive sports such as Taekwondo. The findings offer insights for tailoring digital content strategies according to sport-specific characteristics and motivational factors.
