초록
This study explored foreign viewers’ perception of Korean traditional fan dance (Buchaechum) by analyzing comments on related YouTube videos. A keyword network analysis method was applied, and data were systematically collected and refined. YouTube comments were gathered using Google Colab, co-occurrence frequencies and matrices were generated using KrKwic, and network visualization was conducted with NodeXL. The analysis revealed three key findings. First, comments were written in diverse languages, with English being the most frequent, followed by Vietnamese and Chinese, indicating the global reach of Buchaechum. Second, major keywords such as “Beautiful,” “Dance,” and “Elegance” reflected viewers’ positive and aesthetic evaluations. Third, network analysis identified four thematic clusters: dancers’ skills and movements, music, cultural heritage and learning, and visual symbolism of costumes, showing that foreign viewers’ perceptions were multidimensional and structured. These findings suggest that Buchaechum holds significant potential as a cultural content within global Hallyu.
