A Review on cervical intraepithelial neoplasia Treatment in Korean Medicine by Analyzing Case Studies Published in Korean Journal

Objectives: The purpose of this review is to analyze the domestic study trends on cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) treated with Korean medicine. Methods: We investigated the studies on Korean medicine treatment for CIN via searching 4 online databases. After searching studies, we analyzed selected studies. Results: 7 clinical studies were selected and all studies were case reports. After traditional Korean medicine treatment for CIN, most studies showed CIN grades 1-3 lesions regressed and HPV DNA test result was changed from positive to negative. Conclusions: Treatment of CIN is very important in preventing cervical cancer, and Korean medicine treatments for CIN have shown positive results. In the future, case reports applying single-agent Korean medicine interventions, and well-designed large-scale RCT studies are be needed.
