본 연구는 다문화가족 아동들에 대한 연구가 미비한 현실에서 이들의 심리사회적 적응에 영향을 미치는 위험요인과 보호요인의 실태를 파악함으로써 이들이 건강한 적응적 삶을 사는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 다문화가족 아동의 특성에 따른 위험요인과 보호요인은 무엇이며 이들 위험요인과 보호요인 간에는 어떠한 관계가 있는가를 알아보고자 하였다. 다문화가족 아동의 심리사회적 적응에 영향을 미치는 위험요인과 보호요인의 실태를 파악하기위해 개인적 특성, 가족관련 특성, 환경적 특성에 따라 위험요인과 보호요인에 어떠한 차이가 나타나는지를 알아보았다. 연구결과는 첫째, 다문화가족 아동은 고학년보다 저학년에서 가족관련, 문화관련 위험요인의 영향을 받으며, 특히 어머니가 외국인인 경우 가족관련, 문화관련 위험요인에 노출되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 생활수준에 따라서도 위험요인에 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 다문화가족 아동은 성별, 학년수준에 따라 특히 문화관련, 주변인, 종교관련, 학교관련, 교사지지 보호요인에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 다문화가족 아동의 심리사회적 적응에 영향을 미치는 위험요인 6개와 보호요인 7개 간 상관관계를 분석한 결과 위험요인과 보호요인 간에 부적상관(-)관계가 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 다문화가족 아동의 이중언어 학습지원 방안과 다문화가족 아동 담당교사들에게 그들을 이해하고 지원하는 교원연수 프로그램의 필요성과 또래가 함께 하는 집단프로그램 개발 등이 필요함을 제안하였다.
Abstract
This study investigated the psychosocial adjustment status of children in multi-culture families. The data from this study was gathered for formulating appropriate policies or programs for multi-culture children to help them gain requisite skills and adapt to Korean society. The paper discusses the risk and protective factors affecting children's psychosocial adjustment, analyzing the relationship between these factors. To investigate the status risk factors and protective factors according to individual, familial, and environmental characteristics, t-tests, ANOVA, and correlation analysis were utilized. The results were as follows. First, there were significant differences in children's psychosocial adjustments according to sex, school year, mother's nationality and economic status. Second, the correlation between 6 risk factors and 7 protective factors appeared negative. Based on these results, it is recommended that programs be developed to consider the psychological and emotional characteristics of children of multi-culture families. Teacher training programs are also necessary to promote a bullying prevention education for such children. We also need to design support programs for multi-culture families including their children. Finally, the paper proposes that dual language support programs for the children of multi-culture families be adopted.
