가정위탁보호 아동의 심리적 적응

초록

본 연구는 가정위탁보호 아동의 심리적 적응 관련 변인들에 따른 위탁아동의 심리적 적응을 살펴보고자 하였다. 설문조사는 대전광역시의 가정위탁지원센터를 통해 위탁양육을 받는 아동과 그의 위탁부모를 대상으로 하였다. 최종분석에는 위탁아동과 위탁부모의 설문지가 짝(pair)을 이루는 99부를 사용하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주 위탁양육자의 연령과 학력에 따라서는 주 위탁양육자의 연령이 70대 이상인 경우에서 그리고 주 위탁양육자의 학력이 중졸 이하인 경우에서 가정위탁보호 아동의 공격성이 가장 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 위탁부모의 위탁동기에 따라서는 위탁부모의 위탁동기가 ‘혈연관계’일 때 긍정적 세계관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 총 위탁경험기간에 따라서는 위탁부모의 위탁경험이 6년～10년 사이인 경우에서 가정위탁보호 아동의 자아만족감이 가장 높았으며 세계관 역시 가장 긍정적인 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 위탁가정의 가족 및 사회적 지지에 따른 가정위탁보호 아동의 심리적 적응은 어떠한지를 살펴본 결과, 위탁부모가 가정위탁지원센터 서비스 지원에 만족하는 경우에서 가정위탁보호 아동의 세계관이 긍정적 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 위탁아동 성별에 따라서는 남아가 여아보다 정서적으로 더 안정되는 경향을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 현 위탁가정에 온 기간에 따라서는 현, 위탁가정에 온 기간이 24개월 이상으로 그 기간이 길수록 정서적 반응을 더 잘하는 것으로 나타났다. 일곱째, 위탁아동 신체장애 유무에 따라서는, 장애가 있는 경우에서 더 의존적인 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 위탁아동에게 형제가 있는 경우에는 위탁보호할 때 형제가 함께 동일한 위탁가정에 배치되었을 경우에서 위탁아동의 자아만족감이 더 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the psychological adjustment of children in foster care in accordance with foster family characteristics, family and social support, and foster child characteristics. The subjects were 99 pairs of foster children and their foster parents. Results of the research were as follows: First, when the foster parent’s age was over 70 and their education level did not exceed middle school, the foster child’s aggression was at the highest level. Second, when the foster parent’s motive for foster care was consanguinity, the foster child had a positive view of the world. Third, when the foster parents had 6-10 years of foster care experience, the child’s self-satisfaction was at the highest level and they showed the most positive view of the world. Fourth, when the foster parent was satisfied with the foster care center’s services, the foster child’s view of the world tended to be positive. Fifth, in terms of the child’s gender, boys seemed to be more emotionallystabilized than girls. Sixth, when the period of a child’s current foster care in the present foster care family was longer than 24 months, the child performed well on the emotional reaction. Seventh, if the foster child had a disability, they were more dependent than those without a disability. When the foster care child’s psychological state was unstable, the child’s aggression level seemed to rise. When the child’s psychological state was stable, they tended to be more emotionally stable. Finally, if the foster care child had siblings and they were placed in the same foster care family, it appears the child’s self-satisfaction was higher than if they were separated.
