현대사회는 노년기 부부가 함께 보내는 기간은 양적으로 매우 늘어나고 있지만 급격한 사회변화 속에서 부부의 기능이 약화되거나 불안정한 상태가 되었다. 성공적이고 행복한 노년기 부부의 관계를 만들어가기 위해서는 새로운 삶의 의미를 만들어내야 하는 학습이 필요해지고 있다. 본 연구를 위한 자료는 서울지역에 위치한 1개 기관에서 2010년 5월부터 11월까지 7개월간 참여한 10쌍의 노인 부부를 대상으로 자료 수집하였으며, 총 33회기동안 프로그램과정을 녹취하고, 기록한 원 자료로 삼았다. 따라서 앞으로 노인전문기관에서는 노인 스스로 문제를 찾아내고 해결할 수 있는 노년기의 부부관계 개선 프로그램이 활성화되어야 할 것을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 노년기의 부부 관계개선프로그램은 노년기 부부들의 개인성장에 효과가 있었다. 둘째, 부부갈등관계 개선에 효과가 있었다. 셋째, 부부의 공동여가찾기를 통하여 노년기 부부의 여가활동은 부부관계개선에 큰 효과가 있었다. 넷째, 본 개발 프로그램이 일반 노년기의 부부에게는 부부문제 예방효과를 갈등부부에게는 치료효과를 가져올 수 있음을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine a married enrichment program that can be applied to the actual lives of the elderly married couples. The program was developed and put into practice at an elderly welfare center in Seoul, and the data were collected from 10 elderly married couples in 2010. The study is based on a group program, and the study focused on the learning process of elderly married couples. The findings of the study are as follows. First, the couples tried to engage in self-actualization activities much more, and they found satisfaction in life through their relationship. However, the men stayed in their fixed traditional role in everyday life. In addition, the elderly participants had a chance to reflect and to project themselves. Second, it was effective at improving their marital relationships. Third, finding a couple's joint leisure activities throughout the year had a significant effect on improving the couple's marital relationship. Fourth, a conflict prevention effects was noted.
