초록

The EU and South Korea are the only partners, which have signed the Framework Agreement, the Free Trade Agreement, and the Strategic partnership Agreement. It is all these agreements that have indeed paved the way for them to interact in a more comprehensive, but yet concrete, way to develop their bilateral relationship. Against this backdrop, this paper aims to study the connectivity between the EU and South Korea in both hard and soft security, asking in what ways, and to what extent, this would actually affect the EU’s normative stance in world politics, as well as South Korea’s commitment to help it realize such a political objective. For this objective, the paper will discuss the EU’s normative feature, as well as its implications for its relationship with Korea, focusing on the normative feature of the EU in its relationship with Korea, as well as the corresponding methods befitting to its international identity. Keeping this mind, the paper seeks to verify that there are connectivity in military dimension, if a variety of security issues either through their joint participation in the KEDO program and through crisis management operations are subject of analysis.
