실업계 고교에서의 직업교육 개혁을 위한 실천적 방안

초록

국내·외적 직업교육 환경변화에 대응하여 자국의 생존차원에서 평생직업교육훈련 기반을 구축하는 일은 직업교육 개혁의 중요한 과제이다. 특히 평생학습사회 실현과 국가 인적자원개발을 목표로 직업교육을 중심으로 한 국가의 교육훈련체제 전반에 대한 대대적인 개혁은 절대 필요하다. 직업교육개혁은 전 생애에 걸친 국민 개개인의 학습권을 보장함으로써 질 높은 직업생활을 영위하도록 하고, 일과 학습을 통합하여 계속교육기회를 확대하는 데 목표를 두어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우리나라 직업교육 환경의 특징을 살펴보고, 직업교육의 근본적인 문제점을 중심으로 직업교육개혁의 실천적 방향을 제시하였다.

Abstract

In the past, a primary objective of vocational high schools was to prepare students for a job. Therefore, vocational high school education was considered as terminal education. However, most people want to get higher education due to the decrease of children and the increase of GNP. Because vocational high schools are disadvantageous to enter college or universities compared to general high schools, vocational high schools lost their popularity and applying rate for them has been decreased. The goal of vocational high schools should be changed from preparation for job to preparation for higher education. This paper advocated a greater emphasis on basic academic skills and general vocational education in vocational high schools. In this study, some practicable ideas for reformation of vocational education in vocational high schools are described.
